Ghost Lights - Concept Art
I find myself winding down from two weeks of almost constant treatment writing – the problem is I’m never really winding down. The whole time I’m concentrating on a story and pounding it out on paper or the PC, somewhere in the back of my mind I keep wondering what’s next.
People ask me where I get my crazy ideas. I really don’t know but I think I draw a lot of stuff from folklore and odd combinations of things I’ve seen or read in the past. Usually I start thinking about a few possibilities at once and something completely different will fly out of left filed and smack me between the eyes. It’s usually this idea that takes precedent over everything else and haunts me in every waking and sleeping moment until it’s completed. Sometimes it never stops there though; I start thinking about sequels and crossovers…
So this rambling leads me to announce the pre-production of another short film, Ghost Lights. All I have in my head at this moment are these images of lights and people screaming. But I’ve already begun to jot down notes and do some research.
For those of you still scratching your head over the title, a “ghost light” is a type of phenomena that can because by all sorts of things from atmospheric reflections and igniting swamp gas…but sometimes the scientists can never explain it so rumor and paranormal phenomena begin to take credit. I, for one, am not going to argue one side over the other. I am going to tell you a crazy story about what could happen if – and I say IF – somebody encountered a ghost light that really was a ghost… I suggest you wear a diaper and bring a barf bag because I think this one is going to get messy.
I have to go now… I have some writing to do
