Glitch - Poster Art

Well, the Fangoria convention has blown over, Mail Order Bride is taking off and I am starting to edit Glitch – this is the perfect time to start revisiting the script for Mr. Buttons and get psyched up for crafting 2nd draft.

Mail Order Bride Premiere

Well, after almost 9 months of work, Mail Order Bride made it’s premiere on Saturday. The crowd seemed to like it and most importantly the cast and crew love it. I will always be critical of my own work, but then again this is the first project where I’m not cringing left and right when I watch it. Gine the almost non-existent budget for the film, I’m pretty damn happy with it. I’m racing to make a few last minute edits and get the press kit finished off for a few festival deadlines in June. I’m not sure when the film will be for sale on DVD, but it will start appearing on VOD sites very soon.

On a personal note, the family and I had a great time hanging out with our close friend Caroline before and after the premiere. Sunday we embarked on a relaxing road trip up to Julian, CA for a stop at King Leo for some candy and a slice of heavenly Dutch Apple Pie from the Julian Pie Company. It was a great feeling knowing we were done busting our asses so we could just relax for a while.

The Premiere was a blast! We had cast, crew, friends and fans from MySpace show up for our 4 hour party at Dave & Buster’s in San Diego.

We showed the film twice and I was extremely happy when the audience laughed and grimaced at the proper places. On top of that we had lots of goodies to snack on while we watched the gore fly!

After watching the film on the big screen at Dave & Buster’s there are a few more tweaks to the sound I need to make, but overall this motherfucker is 99% done.

Mail Order Bride - Poster Art

Mail Order Bride is finally done! Peter has created an amazing and haunting score for the film which sends chills up my spine when I listen to it. I’m a little nervous about the premiere tomorrow – I’m always afraid nobody will show up after I’ve dropped a chunk of cash renting out a private theater. I’ll watch the film with Caroline tonight and make the last few tweaks tonight.

Mail Order Bride – Rough Cut Finished!

OK – so it’s a little late due to things like deaths in the family and long work hours at my normal day job, but I am happy to announce that the rough cut of Mail Order Bride is complete! What does that mean? I have a 48 minute long film and I need to trim it down to a little more. I’m not really sure if I can do it, but the film definitely needs to be shorter. There are some things I know I can cut and things I pray I don’t have to. No matter what, the Director’s Cut will be available on a DVD sometime in late 2006.

Mail Order Bride – Editing Begins

Editing has begun on the rough cut of the film. There’s really not a ton of footage to sift through, however getting the timing right will be key. I have started to check out theaters to hold the premiere as well. I would love to do it at Dave & Busters again, but it can get a little pricey over there.

Mail Order Bride – Music Updates

I’ve been editing the film like crazy over the past several weeks and things are really starting to come together.

The music Peter is creating for this film is absolutely amazing and most of it is just background stuff that people will only get a glimpse of in the film.

When we finally release the DVD there will be a ton of extras with all of the extended scenes that are cut from the festival release. We are also planning to release a soundtrack with all of the music from the film in the near future.

Mail Order Bride – Filming Marathon

Dining with the Bride - at 1:00 AM

Today we completed a 21 hour filming Marathon! It was a long haul, but I think we came up with some great footage. We had a few small snags with wardrobe and makeup that delayed our schedule.

After an almost crippling wardrobe malfunction I was just about ready to call it quits and scrap the entire project. My actors and crew teamed together and persuaded me go ahead with the filming.

When it was all said and done I am very happy we marched onward.
